Description
This clock's neon glow lights up the night in Orcutt, California. Though it currently resides in a modern shopping area, the clock with its tall pedestal and glowing neon is much older (late 1930's or early 1940's). The Melby family have had a jewelry store on the California central coast since 1922. This clock was originally in front of their store on Main Street in Santa Maria. When the family decided to move the store to Orcutt in 2000, they moved the clock, too. Well, wouldn't you?
The hand done original of this digital scan is a combination cyanotype (blue) and gum (yellow).
