A V8 emblem gleaming in the sun! V8 engines are synonymous with power and performance and dominated US car manufacturing for decades.
V8 engines fell out of favor when the OPEC oil embargo of 1973 quickly quadrupled gas prices. Car designs shifted from big, powerful vehicles to smaller bodies and more fuel-efficient engines. However, sports cars such as the Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, and others still use the more powerful V8 engines.
And, of course, classic cars with V8's will be around long after most modern cars have taken an early retirement.
Taken with a Canon 5D Mark III. This was converted to black and white in Silver Efex, but the starburst was captured in camera.
