Description
This one is a little sad! Once upon a time a ragdoll loved a little girl named Whitney and, undoubtedly, was very much loved in return. But, alas, all little girls grow up!
This little doll is, of course, one of a host of Raggedy Anns which have been loved by thousands of little girls since 1915. Johnny Gruelle received US Patent D47789 on September 7, 1915 for a rag doll with red yarn for hair and a triangle nose. Gruelle originally created the character when his daughter brought him a home-made ragdoll and asked him to draw a face on it. He later introduced the character to the public in the 1918 book Raggedy Ann Stories. Through the years dozens of books by various authors have followed. Today Raggedy Anns still touch the hearts of girls (of all ages)!
Taken with a Canon 5D Mark III. Processed in Lightroom, Perfect Effects, and Photoshop.

A perfect title for this evocative image, LF I once had a doll like this. Loved the write up too!
