Description
Just think -- this beautiful vehicle was built while Europe was in the midst of World War I, over a century ago. Back then this 1915 Ford Model T Depot Hack would transport passengers from the train station (depot) to local hotels. Can't you imagine the happy travelers and their luggage piling into the open air vehicle? I see the early respectable long dresses eventually replaced by flappers sporting daring hemlines--this car would have seen a lot!
Depot hacks' bodies were manufactured of wood by an independent firm. They were then fitted to the chassis purchased from Ford and sold as a complete vehicle.
When I took this, it was a sunny, partly cloudy day, with plenty of reflections everywhere--not necessarily the best for taking shiny cars, but it worked here. The windshield caught the reflection of the clouds, and you can see the reflection of the American flag and the California state flag captured in the shiny brass radiator. If you look closely, you can also see the words "Made in USA" embedded in the brass!
Texture and tone applied digitally.
